faq
your questions, answered
How are the classes structured during the training?
Practical classes are taught in small groups with a maximum of one teacher for every fifteen students, so you always receive personal guidance. Theory is taught in interactive and informal lectures led by subject experts. For more details, you can review our full training curriculum.
Can I join the 200 hour course if I am a complete beginner?
For the 200 hour training, experience helps but is not required. Many of our most successful students started with no background at all and progressed quickly thanks to their motivation and open mindset.
Can I apply for the 300 hour training if I do not have much experience?
We recommend the 200 hour training if you are new to yoga. The 300 hour program is meant for certified teachers or experienced practitioners, but if you feel strongly about joining you can contact us to discuss your situation.
What is the difference between the 200 hour and 300 hour training?
We recommend the 200 hour training if you are new to yoga. The 300 hour program is meant for certified teachers or experienced practitioners, but if you feel strongly about joining you can contact us to discuss your situation.
Can I apply for the 300 hour training if I do not have much experience?
The 200 hour Hatha & Ashtanga yoga teacher training is designed as a first step into teaching and independent practice. The 300 hour training builds on this foundation and is meant for those already teaching or wishing to refine and perfect their practice in Hatha and Ashtanga. Contact us if you are unsure which course is right for you.
I don’t speak Sanskrit or know yoga philosophy. Can I still join the course?
No prior knowledge is required. Everything will be explained step by step in clear and simple language.
What if I do not want to become a teacher after the training?
You are welcome to join even if you do not plan to teach. Many students attend mainly to deepen their personal practice, though the 300 hour program includes more teaching practice and higher teaching expectations.
Do I receive a course manual?
Yes, you will receive a carefully designed manual on the first day along with a welcome goodie bag to support your learning.
Do I need to bring books with me?
No, we provide a printed manual and a copy of Light on Yoga by B. K. S. Iyengar, as well as a notebook and pens to write. Any extra reading is optional and will be recommended during the training.
Who will be my classmates?
You will study with people from many different backgrounds, cultures, ages, and levels of yoga. Every group is unique, and the diversity creates a rich and inspiring learning environment, and we truly believe we can learn most from each other in this kind of setting. However, we notice that each group is different, so see it as a surprise from the universe 😉
How many people are usually in each yoga teacher training?
On average there are between five and fifteen students. At full capacity of thirty, we divide into two smaller groups to maintain quality and personal attention.
Can I stay connected with my work or family during the course?
Yes, the campus has reliable high speed WiFi and you can use your laptop during breaks. However, we do recommend reducing screen time so you can fully immerse yourself in the training.
Will I have time to do my own things & explore?
Yes, there are breaks each day, and every Sunday is a full day off. You can relax on the beach, swim, shop, or explore Varkala, but we recommend keeping your main focus on the training.
